Biography:
Siyabonga Ntubeni is one of those laid-back sportsmen whose school report card probably used to say "could do better".
A natural all-round sportsman during his time at King Edward School (KES) in Johannesburg who was equally adept at rugby, cricket and water polo, Ntubeni gravitated towards rugby after school "because it is where I achieved the most and have always been successful."
The burly 20-year-old hooker has represented Western Province and the Stormers with some success of late, and has enjoyed his time in the Cape Town-based franchise who are definitely on the rise.
His short-term aim is to be a regular for the Stormers line-up as well as making the SA Under-21 side who will be in international action later in the year.
"So far for me the highlight of my time here has been winning the Under-19 Currie Cup final against the Bulls last year. The match was played as a curtain-raiser to the senior Currie Cup final at King's Park," he said.
Away from the rugby fields, he loves to socialise, visiting friends for braais and chilling out.
